Q: What is Psychology?
A: Psychology is the study of the human mind and how it works. Psychologists pay particular attention to how human thought and behaviour relate to mental processes. This gives them a deep understanding of the mind and how it relates to our behaviour and experiences. A Psychologist uses this scientific knowledge to help people who want to change their thoughts and behaviours, enabling them to live happier and more fulfilling lives. As the mind and body are interconnected, many people often report experiencing improvements in their physical health following a course of Psychological Therapy.
Q: Can I get a Medicare Rebate if I want to see a Psychologist at Regional & Rural Mental Health Services?

Q: Is the information collected by my Psychologist confidential?
A: Yes. No personal information will be released to anyone without your consent unless required by law. For more detailed information please read our

Q: Can I see a Psychologist straight away?
A: Our appointment availability changes very frequently. If you require an urgent appointment with a Psychologist please call our Practice Manager. He will be able to inform you about our appointment availability.
Q: Do I have to take my receipt to a Medicare Services Centre to claim my Medicare Rebate?
A: No. If you are eligible for a Medicare Rebate we are able to process your claim for you online.
Q: Can I use the my NDIS funding to see a Psychologist at Regional & Rural Mental Health Services?
A: Yes. If Psychological Services are part of your funding package.
Q: How may sessions will I need?
A: The amount of sessions you may need depends on your particular situation and needs. Your Psychologist will discuss this with you during your first appointment.
Q: Do I need a referral from a Doctor to access Psychological Services?
A: No. We are a private Psychology Practice which means you do not need a referral to see one of your Psychologists. You will only need a referral and a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan if you wish to claim a Medicare Rebate.
